Making Custom Stalls

When creating custom stalls you will need to implement all of your other skills you have lent from my other tutorials. I will not go into grouping or texturing.

First we need to position the stall so that it faces out towards the path and that the vendor is on the correct side. You will notice that on the 1 rct3 tile placement that ther is two diagonal lines(they kind of look like an arrow), the direction that is needed to face out is actually placed at the opposite side to the diagonal lines. See below...

Simply create your stall, you can use multiple textures etc. Just remeber to keep the front of the stall about 1m from the edge, other wise peeps will clash with the object and also keep the effect point a little bit from the edge of the stall.

Now we need to create effect points, for a stall you will need 5 different effect points. One is for the vendor and the other 4 are peep effect points. So to create these points we need to add vertices, this is done by using the text tool Click to enlarge Simply click where you want the effect to be(obviously the peep have to be placed on the opposite side of the counter to the vendor). Now when you place these vertices you should give them a name e.g. vendor, peep1 etc. See below...

Now simple export this as an ASE file. When exporting you will notice that when it shows the poly count that it will also list your effect points, see below...

Now you need to open the importer, create your text strings and icons as usual.
Now you need to set up the OVL, add the textures as usual then when adding the model your screen should look like this...

You will notice that you can not adit the effect points.
Now simple look at the effects frame and select 'A'. this will automatically detect you effect points. Your screen should now look like this...

Now that your effect points have been added you need to assign them tasks. Firstly select vender then select 'E' (edit). From here you need to select the small yellow star then go to peep and then vendor. You can now press ok, you do not need to set coordinates as they were automatically detected. See below...

Now just go to the transformation matrix fram>press edit>select fix orientation and then you can press ok. You can use the automtic button for LOD's. Now you need to set up your scenery settings and sids.
Your scenery settings/sids should look like this...

Now that you have created your OVL and set up your scenery settings, you can go back to the first screen and select 'Stalls'. See below...

Select add and then select all the groups and other things that are required. Now for the unknowns press the default button. You screen should look similar to this.

Now you can accept all this then at the main window press install and do not forget to save the importer setting so you can come back and edit your set.

Once in the game you should get something like this...

I hope this tutorial has helped you.
