Icon Sheet

When creating an Icon sheet you should remember the main principles. Each icon is 64x64 pixels and the icon sheet is 512x512 pixels. I find it works when I save them as JPEG file type.

First open paint. Then go "image>attributes".

Once you have selected attributes a new window will appear(see below), in here make sure you have pixels selected and type 64x64 for the height and width. You now press "Ok".

Now you need to fill the entire white space with a picture(I find it is best to have a colour all the way to the edge, as it is easier to align later). Just for this example I will color the square black. See below.

Now you just need to do the same as this for how ever many icons you need. Now we need to set up the icon sheet, open another paint document and go "image>attributes".
As the same as before make sure you have pixels selected, but this time type 512x512.

You window should look like this.

Now you need to copy all of your icons over onto this sheet. So open all of your 64x64 pixel icons then select them 1 at a time and copy them over. When copying, you need to fill one row at a time i.e. start at the top and go left to right then do the same for the other rows. I find it is easier to place the icons while zoomed in as they need to have no white gap inbetween each other and they cannot overlap. Eventually your sheet will look similar to the picture below, except you icons should contain pictures.

I hope this tutorial has helped you.
